Mr. RAMU ANNAMALAI (MANAGING DIRECTOR)

Mr.Ramu Annamalai is the Managing Director and Co- Founder of GI Retail Group, a leading ePayments and Retail assisted ecommerce network firm based in Chennai, India.

Mr.Ramu consolidated group companies into the GI Group in 2009 with an inherent vision of improving the standard of life for every aspiring Indian by providing simple solutions. Since then, GI has grown into a 1 billion group with multiple market leaderships in domestic money remittance, payments and travel. GI Group has more than 90000 locations across India and more than 9000 locations on the Philippines.

Mr.Ramu is a strategic thought leader, spearheads the company’s robust performance and is responsible for the group's forward and backward integration to make it a robust player in the money remittance and payments industries.

He is a management graduate (MMS) from BITS, Pilani, one of India’s oldest and leading institutions, Mr. Ramu is an industry veteran backed with over 18 years of experience. Prior to taking over the reins of the family business in paper trading and establishing GI Group, he held an impressive track record of working with Morgan Stanley.

Mr. RM. PALANIYAPAN (EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR)

Mr.RM Palaniyapan is the executive director and Co-founder of GI Retail. He has been driving force for developing and delivering the Group’s technology and new product developments. He has led a series of pioneering innovations in the industry including - the Money Remittance Platform and Banking Correspondent (branchless or low cost banking) platforms which established a significant reception and enabled the group acquire a large share in the Indian market.

He has successfully led and delivered the Pre-paid Payment Card Platform, Travel Hosting and Distribution Technology Platforms on which numerous customized solutions have been built placing them ahead of their competitors.

Mr.RM.Palaniyappan graduated from PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore, one of the premier engineering institutes in India.
